Birthday Party!

We decided to have a combined birthday party for Owen's 7th (oh my) and Molly's 3rd this year.  Most of Molly's friends are siblings of Owen's classmates at school, so it worked out great for everyone.

Locally, there is a creative art studio named 4Cats that will host an art themed birthday party.  They take care of the activities and you only have to bring birthday snacks.  You can check them out at www.4cats.com

4Cats offered a splatter paint party that we thought would be perfect for Molly and Owen and their friends.  It was a huge hit!  Here's Molly & Owen coloring while they waited to get started.


The instructor was terrific with all the kids.  Here they are receiving their splatter hats to (kindof) protect some of their hair during the splatter fun.

First up was an individual splatter art.  Simple instructions... have fun and no splattering each other!

Next, they prepared a canvas on the floor and they splatter painted first with brushes sitting, then they popped paint filled balloons over the canvas, then they splatter painted standing up!  There was so much laughing and it was LOUD!

For food, we had the kids build things or make pictures with their food... they all loved it and captured their attention for quite a while.
