March Playdates and Snowsports

Here's a few pictures of the kids, playdates with friends and our winter sports in Vancouver!

Molly in one of her many princess dress up outfits lounging on the couch.  I think Bailey buried his head in the cushions exclaiming oy vey!

Owen and Molly have made some good friends from school that live in the culdesac across from our house.  Noah, Owen and Cassidy are all in the same french immersion grade 1, then the younger siblings Roman, Sarah and Molly are all friends.  We have spent many weekend mornings and summer weeknights hanging out while the kids all play together.  It's one of the reasons we love this neighborhood so much.  On this afternoon, they were all having a house rotation play date..  All the mom's got at least 2 hours of peace and quiet!   Playing trains is a favorite.....

Molly and Sarah are the girly girls, playing kitchen and with their dolls.

Noah and Owen reading a lego star-wars book.

Molly and Sarah having a pretend ice-cream break. :)

Now each with a phone and ice-cream.  They are so funny pretending to talk with each other.  We often find Molly in the living room, talking on her "phone" to her friend Sarah.

Our baby-sitter came over on a Saturday and we finally made it out alone to do some skiing.  It was a really beautiful morning and the slopes weren't that crowded as it was getting later in the season.  They had over 30cm of fresh snow the night before, so conditions were great!

The view from Seymour isn't like Whistler, but it's still quite a bit more impressive than our "mountains" in Pennsylvania.  :)   It looked like a postcard when the sun came out and illuminated the peaks.

Off behind the open runs, there was a back-country hill that a lot of folks were hiking up to.  I circled some of the people in red in the picture below.
The snow the night before coated the trees and made the trails really beautiful.

Allison getting ready for a run.

A few weeks later, Allison got a chance to go snowshoeing with her friend Anita.  It's something she's wanted to try for a long time and they had great fun!  She and Anita hiked the dog-mountain trail that we hiked this past summer.  Allison said the whole landscape looked very different from on top of 12 feet of snow!

Anita brought along their family dog Coby, who loves to be outside and hike along.

Allison and Anita at the lookout.  Nothing to see today with the snow!

Ahhhhh don't fall in!  :)
